High-Strength Carbon Fiber Crown

The PXG Lightning Hybrids feature a high-grade carbon fiber crown, reducing weight in the upper portion of the clubhead. This saved mass is strategically repositioned low and to the perimeter, optimizing the center of gravity (CG) for higher launch, improved stability, and enhanced forgiveness.

Faster, Thinner Face Design

PXG Lightning Hybrids feature an advanced thinner face design for explosive ball speed and enhanced energy transfer. The face insert is 6% thinner than Black Ops, resulting in 3% increased face deformation at impact for a faster launch and greater distance. This innovation boosts ball speed across the face, ensuring more power and consistency.

High MOI Squared Head Design

The squared face design of the PXG Lightning Hybrids is engineered to maintain a low center of gravity (CG), enhancing launch and stability on every shot. By pushing the weight to the extreme edges of the sole, this design maximizes forgiveness and increases MOI (moment of inertia), ensuring greater resistance to twisting on off center hits. The result is a hybrid that provides consistent distance and accuracy, even on mishits.

New Progressive Bulge Radius

PXG Lightning Hybrids utilize an optimised bulge radius that adjusts by loft to improve accuracy on off-center hits. Unlike traditional hybrids with a uniform bulge across all lofts, Lightning Hybrids fine-tune curvature—providing greater correction on lower lofts and less on higher lofts—to keep mishits more online. This innovation helps to provide the proper amount of correction at each loft, ensuring more accurate ball flight. This results in improved consistency and greater accuracy across the face.

Robotic Polishing

Robotic polishing is a high-precision process that ensures the face thickness and the face curvature (the bulge and roll radii) are manufactured to design specs that maximize performance and impart corrective spin for ideal ball flight on off-center shots.
