The Circuit Of The Americas (COTA) has been a fantastic racing venue that was purpose built for F1, and has been on the calendar every year since, barring the 2020 season. The circuit is a favourite for a lot of drivers, but for Gasly COTA has been a bit of a bogey circuit. From 2018, his first season, to 2022 the Frenchmen had failed to score a point at the iconic circuit. Coming into the round, the Frenchman would have been feeling that cloud weigh over him. Fans may not be aware of these things, but for Pierre it would have been a weight on his shoulders. The Alpine man broke that curse early on though, with a 7th place finish in the Sprint, securing him 2 points before the main race had even happened. With the burden lifted, we saw some vintage Pierre on Sunday 22nd October 2023. He brought his car home in a comfortable 6th place, ahead of championship rival Lance Stroll.
