During testing, TaylorMade found that virtually all game-improvement irons share one glaring design flaw: they exaggerate the right miss for the right-handed golfer and the equivalent left error for a lefty. This is particularly troublesome, as the slice is the most common mis-hit among players needing game-improvement assistance. To combat this glaring flaw, the new Qi HL Irons are engineered to control face flexibility and eliminate unwanted cut spin, resulting in straighter shots that regularly find their target.

Thanks to TaylorMade’s stability-boosting Cap Back construction, extremely fast, flexible face, and extended blade length, Qi’s foundation is based on maximum distance and forgiveness. Each iron in the set is then optimized to amplify the flight and spin characteristics for its intended purpose. A lower and deep center of gravity in the long irons generates a high, easy launch, leading to increased carry yardages with a green-holding descent angle. The center of gravity and face progressively shift throughout the set, culminating in scoring clubs offering precision, control, and accuracy.
